Why I Am Making Changes

Hello everyone, I hope you are all doing great. If you have visited my Facebook page or the blog recently you have probably noticed some changes. I've been think about making these changes for a while and have finaly decided to start making them. Have no fear, I am still going to be posting recipes and sweet treat, but I also have a love for handmade items. Some of you know how much I love to make jewelry and crocheting. I love them so much that I wanted to share them with everyone else.

I'll be sharing jewelry pieces and other things that I have made. Hobbies that I hold dear to my heart. I also want to start holding giveaways here. There won't be very many and they will be coming exclusively from me for the most part since this blog doesn't make any money. I do want to them a couple of times a year though.

I also want to apologize for my being gone for so long. I got burnt out and had to take a break. I am slowly making my return to blogging and hope that everyone will join me on my journey. I also hope that you like the new look of a drop of sweetness. I'm trying to get a mor professional look. It's still a work in progress and I hope everyone likes the new look. If you have any suggestions I would love to hear them, please e-mail me if you do.

My first series that I'm going to be doing is going to be called 12 Days of Handmade. Each day I'll post a new item that is handmade that would make a great Holiday gift. This series will start on Dec. 1 so keep an eye out and tell your friends. I hope that everyone enjoys the changes. Until next time make sweet treats and handmade goodness.

Banana Stuffed Chocolate Dipped Frozen Marshmallows

I am really excited to share this recipe with everyone. It is super simple and fun to do with the kids. I wanted to do something different and thought about stuffed marshmallows. I have never done it before and this recipe is a bit messy but a lot of fun. These marshmallows will also help keep you cool it the summer heat.

What you will need:

1 banana
1 bag big marshmallows
2-3 chocolate bars
You will also need a skewer

Directions:

First, you will want to cut the banana into 4 pieces. Then in half just like it  is in the picture.

Cut them in half again lengthwise then cut those pieces in half.

Next, take the skewer and make a hollow out the middle the best you can. This part gets a little sticky.

Take one of the slices of banana and put it into the marshmallow. The banana might pop up out of the top a little but that's ok, the chocolate will cover it.

This is what the marshmallows will look like after they are stuffed. Now, you pop them into the freezer and wait for about 15 to 30 minutes. While they are in the freezer melt the chocolate. You are going to melt the chocolate in 30 sec. intervals in the microwave until it is smooth. When the marshmallows are frozen dip them in the chocolate and any other topping you would like. Pop them back into the freezer until the chocolate is set and enjoy. Store them in the freezer.

What We did on Father's Day

I know this post is a little late and for that I'm sorry. I have been so busy lately and haven't had the time to post. I thought I would write a little post to show you what we did for Father's Day. It's not going to be very long but I hope you enjoy it. I also have a recipe post that I need to write. I know it's been a while and I am trying to get back on track. Okay, now on to our little Father's Day celebration.

First, the little one and I made a card for her dad an few days befor and we had so much fun. As you can tell she loves glitter and all thing sparkly, so she was super excited to make this card. She also picked the color of the construction paper, she loves the color red. Next, we got a little ceramic mug  that came with some markers at a craft store and she colored on it and gavee it to my husband and he loved it. I didn't take a picture of it but it is mostly scribbles since she can't really draw yet. We also made his favorite cookies, Snickerdoodles! He was very excited to see those, like a kid in a candy store. She had a lot of fun rolling the dough in the cinnamon sugar mixture. They came out a little smashed but it was a lot of fun and Father's Day turned out great.

I have one more thing to tell you all. This month is the one year anniversery for my blog and I'm going to try to change the look and hopefully get everything a little more organized her. Thank you all so much for fallowing my blog and I look forward to sharing some more yummy treats with you.

Dark Chocolate Chip Almond Pancakes with Strawberry Topping

Hello everyone, I hope you are all are enjoying your evening. I have some good news, I have a new recipe for you! Like all of the recipes here this one is really easy and doesn't take a lot of time. When I made these pancakes I thought they were going to be too rich, but because I added the almonds the chocolate was not as rich. This made everything so much better.

Now, I know this is not a dessert, but I wanted to change things up a bit and try a breakfast. If you really wanted to you could have this for dessert. I didn't add whipped cream to them but that would make them extra tasty. Here is the recipe; I hope you like it.

Ingrediants for Strawberry sauce:

whole frozen strawberries
1 TBL. sugar ( you can add more if you would like a sweeter sauce.)
1 tsp. vanilla
a little bit of water

Instructions for strawberry sauce:

1. Add everything to a saucepan and bring to a simmer over medium to low heat until thickened.

Ingrediants for Pancakes:

2 cups of pancake mix
1tsp. vanilla
dark chocolate chips
shaved almonds

Instructions for pancakes:

1. Make pancake mix according to the instructions on the box.

2. Add vanilla and mix well.

3. Heat up pan and spray with cooking spray. Add desired amount of pancake mix to hot pan.

4. Add chocolate chips then add almonds.

5. Flip when the edges are dry. Cooke other side until golden brown.
